Day 1 and 2 New York/Cairo/Aswan
Depart from New York Kennedy Airport on
an overnight flight to Cairo. Arriving late
morning the following day Meeting, assisting
and transfer to the domestic terminal for
Egyptair flight to Aswan, meet, assist upon
arrival and transfer to the Basma Hotel,
dinner and overnight. (D)
Day 3 Aswan– Nile Cruise
Check out after breakfast and transfer to
the dock for embarkation on M/S Crown
Jewel or similar 5 star deluxe Nile cruise. A
day visit to the unfinished obelisk and get a
first hand on how they where cut in
limestone. A brief visit to the High Dam, then
a short motorboat ride to the island of
Agilika and explore the temple of Isis
complex. Overnight on board. (B,L,D)
Day 4 Kom Ombo/Idfu-Nile Cruise
Cruise to Kom Ombo and venture through
the temple complex built by the Ptolemaic
Kings to celebrate the crocodile god Sobek
and the falcon god Horus, a double temple
with twin gateways and sanctuaries and cemetery for the sacred crocodiles. Sail to
Idfu, a short ride on a horse-drawn carriage
to visit its temple dedicated to the god
Horus. Continue sailing to Luxor and
overnight. (B/L/D)
Day 5 Luxor
A day exploring the Valley of the Kings where
almost all the New Kingdom pharaohs were
buried, this site was chosen perhaps because
the outcrop above it resembled a pyramid.
Also visit the Valley of the Queens, and the
Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir
El-Bahari, built by the only female pharaoh
who established the largest ship fleet at her
time. Afternoon visit to Luxor Temple built
by Amenhotep III who ruled Egypt 1391-
1353 B.C. and enlarged by Tut Ankh Amun,
Ramses II, and Alexander the Great once
linked to the Temple of Karnak by a great
avenue lined with sphinxes. Karnak Temple,
the great temple of Amun dominates a 250
acre complex of temples, chapels, colossi,
and obelisks with 134 columns, the temple's
hall is the largest columnar structu
Day 6 Luxor/Cairo
Disembarkation early this morning and
transfer to Luxor Airport for Egyptair flight to
Cairo where you will be escorted to the
Barcelo Hotel. Remainder of the evening at
leisure. (B)
Day 7 Cairo
Explore the Egyptian Museum in Cairo this
morning where the largest collection of
Egyptian Antiquities in the world is
displayed. Continue your full day tour and
visit the great Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx
and the valley temple. (B/L)
Day 8 Cairo/New York
Check out after breakfast buffet and
transfer to Cairo Airport for your flight back
to New York. (B)
